We're looking for a Data Engineer to support the build of a new data platform within the Microsoft Fabric and Azure ecosystem. This is a hands-on role where you'll help shape how environmental data is managed and reported across multiple public sector stakeholders.

Description
• Data Platform Development: Set up and configure a lakehouse using Microsoft Fabric and Azure.
• Data Migration: Migrate existing Power BI Gen1 dataflows to Gen2 and integrate new data sources.
• Database Integration: Build Azure SQL databases using RESTful APIs and integrate them into the lakehouse.
• Semantic Model Transition: Migrate Power BI semantic models, calculated columns, and DAX measures to the new architecture.
• Reporting Support: Assist in updating Power BI reports to reference the new semantic model and support dashboard development.
• Documentation: Create and maintain data catalogues, access policies, metadata models, and report catalogues.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Power BI Developer to enhance reporting capabilities and support statutory and external reporting.
Profile
• Technically Skilled: Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Power BI, DAX, and data modelling.
• Migration Experience: Proven track record in data migration and building scalable data infrastructure.
• Detail-Oriented: Comfortable documenting technical processes, data dictionaries, and access policies.
• Collaborative: Able to work effectively with reporting teams and stakeholders to deliver actionable insights.
• Adaptable: Quick to pick up new tools and technologies-experience with Power Apps and ArcGIS mapping is a bonus.
• Impact-Driven: Motivated by contributing to meaningful public sector projects with real-world outcomes.
