Job Description:
The Data Engineer/Architect ensures lines of businesses harness their data effectively and intelligently by transforming operations through the power of data by driving data strategy and governance, along with designing advanced architectures and models. Whether through crafting innovative solutions, streamlining data pipelines, or implementing cutting-edge platforms, this position is dedicated to empowering the organization to achieve the goal of becoming truly data-driven. This position will look specifically at the Global Response and operational resiliency tools and technologies to gather, challenge, and prioritize data requirements to ensure solutions are tailored to our customer’s unique needs. The data engineer/architect will understand business realities, identify key pain points and uncover data-driven opportunities, as well as collaborate with business leaders to align data strategies with overarching business goals, ensuring a seamless integration between technology and organizational objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Define and design cutting-edge Data & Analytics architectures and solutions that enable businesses to harness the full potential of their data assets
• Oversee and develop advanced data platforms, including data acquisition and integration, data modeling, transformation, and quality processes, as well as master data management, data warehousing, data lakes, ontologies, and metadata layers
• Support the strategy, planning, and implementation of data design services by providing sizing and configuration guidance and conducting thorough needs assessments
• Collaborate with other architects to implement complex, end-to-end enterprise solutions that integrate seamlessly into existing ecosystems
• Evaluate and select tools and components essential for optimal data management and analytics capabilities, ensuring innovative solutions are implemented effectively
• Develop and maintain comprehensive data lake and data warehouse schematics, layouts, architectures, and relational/non-relational databases to enable robust data access and advanced analytics
• Define, design, and implement efficient data ingestion flows and data pipelines, ensuring high performance and scalability for large-scale data operations
• Support business development activities by contributing thought leadership and technical expertise to strengthen client relationships and drive new opportunities
Required Skills:
• Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or other related fields
• At least 10 years’ experience in software engineering, data strategy, technology consulting, or similar roles
• Excellent English communication skills
• Proven track record and experience in data strategy, architecture, data modeling, data governance, AI, Machine Learning, and data platform design
• Experience with Big Data technologies, containerization platforms, databases (SQL and NoSQL), and cloud platforms such as AWS
• Good understanding of ETL, ELT, data ingestion/cleansing, and engineering skills. Knowledge of Python, Java and other programming languages a plus
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to adapt quickly and positively to change, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Eager to learn and grow professionally
• Must have a strong entrepreneurial and team spirit, balanced by a healthy sense of autonomy
