Contract Data Engineer – Azure Specialist (with Databricks or Snowflake)
Location: London (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)
Contract Length: 6 months
Day Rate: £400–£500 (Outside IR35)

About the Role
A London-based IT consultancy is in a period of rapid growth, winning multiple new projects. They are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in Azure to join their team and lead a data migration project for one of their end clients.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement scalable data pipelines and solutions within the Azure ecosystem.
• Support migration from legacy systems to modern cloud-based platforms.
• Utilize Databricks (or Snowflake) for advanced data processing and analytics.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery and adherence to best practices.
• Implement robust data governance and security measures.
Essential Skills
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer with deep knowledge of Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse, Azure SQL, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with Databricks or Snowflake.
• Strong SQL and Python skills for ETL and data transformation.
• Solid understanding of data migration strategies and performance optimization.
Nice to Have
• Previous consultancy or client-facing experience.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices for data solutions.
