Role: Sr. Business Data Governance Analyst
Location: Newark, NJ (Hybridβ 3 days/week)
Position Type: Long Term Contract

Summary:
We are seeking a Business-Facing Data Governance Business Analyst to support enterprise data governance initiatives while partnering closely with the Fixed Income, Global Wealth, and Alternatives business teams.
Key Skills & Responsibilities:
β’ Partner with business stakeholders to define, implement, and monitor Data Quality (DQ) rules and controls.
β’ Establish and support data governance frameworks, standards, and best practices across business functions.
β’ Ensure compliance with PII data governance policies and regulatory requirements.
β’ Drive data stewardship by training, mentoring, and enabling business data stewards.
β’ Collaborate with business and technology teams to improve data quality, consistency, and governance processes.
β’ Facilitate stakeholder discussions, gather requirements, and influence adoption of data governance initiatives.
β’ Monitor data quality metrics, identify issues, and coordinate remediation efforts.
β’ Promote a strong data governance culture across the organization
Required Skills & Experience
β’ Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Data Governance Analyst in a business-facing role.
β’ Hands-on experience with data governance and data quality tools, preferably Ataccama (or equivalent platforms such as Collibra, Informatica Axon, Microsoft Purview, or Alation).
β’ Strong understanding of Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Lineage, Data Stewardship, and Data Governance principles.
β’ Experience implementing and managing Data Quality (DQ) rules.
β’ Knowledge of PII data handling, data privacy, and governance standards.
β’ Strong financial services domain knowledge, particularly within Fixed Income, Global Wealth, Asset Management, or Alternatives.
β’ Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
β’ Ability to influence business users and drive adoption of governance practices across multiple teams.
β’ Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a hybrid, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience in investment management or capital markets.
β’ Familiarity with enterprise data governance operating models.
β’ Exposure to regulatory and compliance requirements within financial services.
β’ Experience delivering data governance training or enablement programs.
