Data Governance

Role: Sr. Business Data Governance Analyst Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid– 3 days/week) Position Type: Long Term Contract "Looking Only Local Candidates" "Must have 12- 15 years of experience & Investment management experience will be preferred'. Summary: We are seeking a Business-Facing Data Governance Business Analyst to support enterprise data governance initiatives while partnering closely with the Fixed Income, Global Wealth, and Alternatives business teams. Key Skills & Responsibilities: • Partner with business stakeholders to define, implement, and monitor Data Quality (DQ) rules and controls. • Establish and support data governance frameworks, standards, and best practices across business functions. • Ensure compliance with PII data governance policies and regulatory requirements. • Drive data stewardship by training, mentoring, and enabling business data stewards. • Collaborate with business and technology teams to improve data quality, consistency, and governance processes. • Facilitate stakeholder discussions, gather requirements, and influence adoption of data governance initiatives. • Monitor data quality metrics, identify issues, and coordinate remediation efforts. • Promote a strong data governance culture across the organization Required Skills & Experience • Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Data Governance Analyst in a business-facing role. • Hands-on experience with data governance and data quality tools, preferably Ataccama (or equivalent platforms such as Collibra, Informatica Axon, Microsoft Purview, or Alation). • Strong understanding of Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Lineage, Data Stewardship, and Data Governance principles. • Experience implementing and managing Data Quality (DQ) rules. • Knowledge of PII data handling, data privacy, and governance standards. • Strong financial services domain knowledge, particularly within Fixed Income, Global Wealth, Asset Management, or Alternatives. • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills. • Ability to influence business users and drive adoption of governance practices across multiple teams. • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a hybrid, collaborative environment. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in investment management or capital markets. • Familiarity with enterprise data governance operating models. • Exposure to regulatory and compliance requirements within financial services. • Experience delivering data governance training or enablement programs.
