Role description
Role: Data Governance Analyst
Engagement Type: Contract (6–12 months) | Possible Conversion to FTE
Location: Strongly Preferred local - St. Louis Park, MN (Hybrid On-site)
Target Start: November–December 2025
Program Priorities
Stand up foundational framework — policies, procedures, ownership, training.
Operationalize data quality and cataloging through Informatica IDMC.
First data domain focus: Salesforce (global scope).
Establish continuous governance cycles — profiling, quality measurement, stewardship feedback loops.
Enable ethical, compliant data use across business, legal, and security functions.
Role Scope & Responsibilities
This is a tactical, execution-oriented role supporting the governance team.
Primary Focus Areas:
Work side-by-side with data stewards and data owners to:
Gather metadata, business definitions, thresholds, and quality rules.
Assist with profiling and cataloging activities in Informatica IDMC.
Partner with technical SMEs to extract and mine data from relevant systems (tables, schemas, etc.).
Build and maintain data health dashboards — ideally with Power BI or Tableau (nice-to-have).
Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, and Security to ensure proper tagging and handling of PII and sensitive data.
Identify and document data discrepancies, then surface insights to stewards for remediation.
Support configuration and setup of IDMC tooling (the environment exists but is largely empty).
Help Laurinda operationalize her roadmap and demonstrate measurable value to the business.
Skills & Experience
Must Have:
Hands-on experience with Informatica IDMC (Data Governance / Data Quality / Cataloging modules).
Strong SQL and Python skills for data profiling and analysis.
Experience collaborating across business, compliance, and technical stakeholders.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — able to translate data concepts for non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated ability to “walk alongside” rather than “direct” — empathy-driven partnership approach.
Proven experience in data governance or master data management functions.
Nice to Have:
Power BI or Tableau experience for custom reporting and visualization.
Background in large, global organizations or regulated environments.
Familiarity with Salesforce data structures.
Success Attributes (Culture / Soft Skills)
Personality and mindset required:
Collaborative, empathetic, and relationship-driven.
Change agent: Able to influence and gain buy-in at multiple levels.
Excellent communicator and listener.
“Read the room” emotional intelligence: Adapts tone and style to stakeholder context.
Trust-builder: Partners with, not over, business stakeholders.
Continuous improvement mindset: Views governance as an evolving discipline, not a one-time task.
Engagement Details
Role is initially 6–12 months with potential for conversion to FTE (“badge flip” encouraged).
Laurinda will be building an internal governance team in 2026; this contractor will help lay the groundwork and later KT (knowledge transfer) to new hires.
Tools: Informatica IDMC, Salesforce, Power BI/Tableau.
Work Environment: “Scrappy startup mode” inside a global enterprise; highly collaborative.
Partner Expectation: wants curated, fully vetted candidates with soft skill summaries and scenario-based notes.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $37.91 - $55.65 per hour
Work Location: In person
