Data Governance Analyst (Contract-to-Hire) Candidates must be either U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders and authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future. Location: Columbus, OH (Onsite 5 Days/Week) Type: Contract with Potential for Full-Time Conversion We are seeking a Data Governance Analyst to join a growing enterprise data team supporting a large-scale ERP transformation initiative. This role will play a critical part in helping the organization migrate to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Management (CM) and Customer Engagement (CE) modules while establishing strong data governance practices across the enterprise. This position is ideal for a data-focused professional who understands how data moves through systems, how it is structured, and how it should be governed. While this is not a hands-on coding role, the successful candidate must possess enough technical understanding to effectively partner with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders. The organization leverages Microsoft Fabric as its modern data platform, including Lakehouse architecture and notebooks. Candidates with exposure to Microsoft Fabric, data governance frameworks, data migration initiatives, or modern analytics environments will be highly regarded. What You'll Be Doing • Partner with business stakeholders, data owners, and data stewards to define, govern, and maintain enterprise data glossary terms and key business metrics • Support a large-scale ERP migration effort involving Microsoft Dynamics 365 CM and CE modules • Participate in data mapping, data migration, and data cleansing activities to ensure high-quality data is transitioned into the new ERP environment • Establish and maintain business glossaries, data definitions, data dictionaries, and metadata within data governance platforms • Support enterprise data governance standards, policies, and best practices • Help define and reinforce data ownership and stewardship responsibilities across business domains • Perform data profiling and support data quality initiatives by identifying issues and tracking remediation efforts • Contribute to data archival, retention, sensitivity classification, and data security initiatives • Facilitate governance workshops and cross-functional alignment sessions • Ensure governance standards and definitions are consistently applied across reporting, analytics, and operational processes • Identify opportunities to improve data trust, consistency, and usability across systems and teams • Serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, helping translate business requirements into governed data solutions Required Qualifications • 3+ years of experience in data governance, data management, business analysis, analytics, or related data-focused roles • Strong understanding of data governance concepts, data quality practices, metadata management, and data stewardship • Experience partnering with business stakeholders to define and manage business data requirements • Strong communication, facilitation, and documentation skills • Understanding of database concepts, data structures, and data modeling fundamentals • Working knowledge of how enterprise data is stored, transformed, and consumed across business systems • Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts with data engineers and architects, even if not directly performing development work • Motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn and grow within a data governance career path Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting ERP implementations, ERP migrations, or large-scale business system transformations • Data mapping and data migration experience • Experience with data governance platforms such as Microsoft Purview or similar tools • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, including governance capabilities within Fabric • Familiarity with Lakehouse architecture and modern cloud-based data platforms • Understanding of notebooks and how they are used within data and analytics environments • Experience working with data quality, master data management, metadata management, or data catalog initiatives Technical Environment • Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CM and CE modules) • Microsoft Fabric • Lakehouse architecture • Microsoft Purview and other data governance technologies • Enterprise data migration and modernization initiatives What Success Looks Like To be successful in this role, you'll need more than governance knowledge. You'll need the ability to understand how data is structured, transformed, and consumed within Microsoft Fabric. As the organization continues to model, govern, and monitor data in a Lakehouse environment, you'll be expected to identify potential data quality and governance issues, collaborate with technical teams to resolve them, and help ensure data remains trusted and usable across the enterprise. Additional Requirements • Must be located in the Columbus, Ohio area • Must be able to work onsite five days per week • Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship • Interviews will be conducted in person
