Job#: 3028977 Job Description: Data Governance Analyst - Placement Location: Arlington, Virginia (Hybrid) Role Overview We are seeking a Data Governance Analyst to analyze and enhance current governance structures, processes, and procedures. This role is responsible for identifying gaps, providing recommendations for future data governance implementation, and supporting the establishment of data quality and lifecycle management policies. Key Responsibilities • Analyze existing governance processes and recommend improvements for process improvement. • Collaborate with management and staff to identify data domains, domain leads, and governance policies. • Identify data owners and stewards and support governance training efforts. • Guide users through data governance concepts, policies, and best practices, including zero trust principles. • Conduct annual assessments of data management activities and recommend improvements. • Develop mechanisms to measure data management maturity and establish policies for data lifecycle management. • Define requirements for implementing data quality metrics and work with business owners to establish data quality rules. • Analyze and enhance data architecture and standards through data governance modeling. Required Qualifications Education: A Master’s Degree is preferred. Experience: • 8+ years of experience working with business stakeholders, data modeling, and data architecture concepts. • 5+ years of experience leading data governance initiatives in multiple settings. • Experience implementing governance for mission-specific data standards. Technical Skills: • High proficiency in SQL, AWS, or other cloud-based tools. • Strong understanding of a variety of database paradigms and technologies. • Excellent knowledge of the DAMA framework. • Ability to analyze, develop, and document processes, procedures, policies, and charters. • Strong technical writing, presentation, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications • Financial markets experience is strongly preferred. • Experience with metadata management tools, such as Collibra, is strongly preferred.
