W2 Contract ONLY Department:Β Information Technology Service Area:Β IT Bus Intelligence & Data Mgt Job Role: Data Governance Analyst Requirements: We are looking for candidates with strong data modeling and analytics skills, proficient in SQL and Power BI. Experience with metadata is required. Candidates with a background in insurance, financial, or policy knowledge is preferred. Job Summary: This position is responsible for serving as the client relationship liaison between a business unit and the IT department; and work with IT service or project teams to collect, clarify and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design (using appropriate tools and models) from which technology solutions can be developed. Excellent Communication Skills β€’ Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, business units, compliance, etc.). β€’ Comfortable leading meetings, presenting findings, and influencing stakeholders. β€’ Skilled in translating technical data concepts into business language. Domain Knowledge β€’ Accounting/Finance: Understanding of financial data structures, reporting standards, and regulatory requirements. β€’ Insurance: Familiarity with policy data, claims processing, underwriting, and compliance frameworks. Technical Proficiency Data Modeling: Experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data models. β€’ Data Analytics: Ability to analyze trends, identify anomalies, and derive insights. β€’ Tools & Technologies: Familiarity with SQL, data cataloging tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica), BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and metadata management. Governance & Compliance Mindset β€’ Understands data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). β€’ Experience with data stewardship, lineage tracking, and policy enforcement. Project Management & Strategic Thinking β€’ Capable of driving governance initiatives, setting standards, and aligning with business goals. β€’ Experience with change management and stakeholder alignment.
