Primary Services is actively recruiting for a Data Governance Analyst to support a large, established enterprise recognized for its commitment to operational excellence and digital transformation. This role plays a key part in strengthening and maturing the organization’s data governance framework. The Data Governance Analyst will collaborate with business leaders, technical teams, and compliance partners to enhance data quality, metadata management, lineage, stewardship, and access controls across the enterprise. Responsibilities • Support development and maintenance of data governance policies, standards, and procedures. • Contribute to scalable governance operating models, including centralized, federated, and hybrid approaches. • Track governance KPIs and participate in assessments and continuous improvement initiatives. • Define data quality rules, metrics, and thresholds in partnership with business subject matter experts. • Identify and document Critical Data Elements (CDEs). • Coordinate data quality issue tracking, triage, and root cause analysis with engineering teams. • Maintain metadata standards and ensure consistent implementation across platforms. • Perform hands-on updates in Atlan, including glossary terms, ownership assignments, classifications, and tagging. • Contribute to data lineage documentation and collaborate with engineering on automated lineage processes. • Support Data Owners and Stewards with metadata updates, documentation, and governance workflows. • Assist in applying data retention, privacy, classification, and risk-control requirements. • Gather audit evidence and documentation for compliance reviews. • Support governance of master and reference data domains, including lifecycle management. • Maintain data classification tagging and assist with access entitlement reviews. • Configure and monitor data quality rules and monitors in Monte Carlo. • Maintain governance dashboards and workflow automations. • Support governance tool adoption through documentation, onboarding, and training materials. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field. • 3–6 years of experience in data governance, data quality, metadata management, analytics, or data management. • Foundational knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality methodologies, metadata standards, and lineage concepts. • Experience with Atlan, Monte Carlo, or comparable data governance and data quality platforms. • Proficiency in SQL for querying and validating datasets. • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Looker, or Tableau. • Familiarity with data classification, retention policies, and access control frameworks. • Experience supporting audit, compliance, or regulatory documentation processes.
