Job Description
Seeking dynamic and results-driven Data Lead with 8+ years of expertise in data management, data governance, and SAP data platforms. Proven success in partnering with cross-functional teams to drive scalable data governance frameworks, conduct gap analyses, and deliver enterprise-wide solutions that improve data quality, workflow, and auditability. Deep working knowledge of SAP MDG/MDM and strong experience defining and implementing data governance and stewardship operating models within complex manufacturing environments.
β’ Led current-state assessment of data management processes, tools, workflows, and governance practices across Manufacturing Operations.
β’ Performed structured gap analysis between current MDM and target-state MDG capabilities, focusing on workflow, approval processes, stewardship, audit trails, and data quality.
β’ Evaluated SAP MDG and other MDM/MDG solutions for fit against business needs and manufacturing requirements.
β’ Collaborated with Enterprise Data Governance, BizApps, SAP/PLM teams, and business data stewards to define and document target-state data governance models.
β’ Supported business case development for MDG implementation, detailing scope, value drivers, approach, risks, dependencies, and phased roadmaps.
β’ Defined governance requirements across multiple data domains: material, MM/PP/QM, EWM, TM, FSM, CDC, supplier/vendor, customer/service, and additional MOPS-relevant domains.
β’ Documented data ownership, stewardship responsibilities, approval workflows, change-control, and governance checkpoints.
β’ Identified opportunities to automate data enrichment, standardize approvals, and enhance auditability.
β’ Prioritized MDG use cases and implementation phases based on business impact, process maturity, and data readiness.
β’ Translated business process needs into technical and solution requirements for MDG/MDM.
β’ Defined and documented data quality rules, validation checks, duplicate prevention, exception management, and reporting requirements.
β’ Facilitated workshops to align business stakeholders on process design and implementation priorities.
β’ Prepared executive-ready documentation, recommendations, and roadmaps for leadership.
β’ Comprehensive current-state assessment of MDM implementation and governance models.
β’ Gap analysis report detailing differences between current MDM and target-state MDG needs.
β’ MDG/MDM capability evaluation, including SAP MDG fit.
β’ Recommended target-state data governance operating model.
β’ Prioritized MDG implementation roadmap.
β’ Documented business requirements for key processes including approvals, stewardship, duplicate prevention, and reporting.
β’ Executive-ready recommendations to enable decision-making.
Skills & Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs Degree; 8-10 yearsβ experience in data management/governance, including SAP data.
β’ Strong command of data governance: ownership, stewardship, workflow, data quality, auditability, change control.
β’ Deep experience with SAP MDG or comparable MDM/MDG platforms.
β’ Domain expertise in SAP Material Master, MM, PP, QM, EWM, TM, FSM, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, quality, service operations.
β’ Skilled in performing current-state assessments, gap/capability analyses, roadmap development.
β’ Proven ability to translate business needs into governance and system requirements.
β’ Excellent cross-functional collaboration with IT/BizApps, governance, SAP teams, and process owners.
β’ Experienced in facilitating workshops, documenting business/technical requirements, and building executive presentations.
β’ Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management.
β’ Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous, and evolving environments.
Preferred Experience
β’ Hands-on SAP MDG implementation, configuration, or business ownership.
β’ Experience with SAP S/4HANA, data lifecycle management.
β’ Background in manufacturing, automotive, robotics, supply chain, or high-tech environments.
β’ Familiarity with PLM-to-SAP data flows (3DX, BOM, material, and release-governance).
β’ Experience with data domain models, quality rules, duplicate prevention, stewardship models.
β’ Skilled at developing business cases for enterprise data governance platforms.
β’ Knowledgeable in data cataloging, lineage, metadata management, and quality tooling.
