Role description
Junior Data Governance Manager
London (Hybrid)
£550-£600 per day (Outside IR35)
We're supporting a global travel leader in scaling their data governance and data management capability, with a focus on improving data quality, metadata, and regulatory alignment across their data platform.
They are looking for a Junior Data Governance Manager to join their London-based team, working closely with data, product, and business stakeholders.
The Role
This is not a data engineering role - the focus is on data governance, quality, and management across a large-scale, data-driven environment.
You'll support the rollout of governance frameworks and help drive better data practices across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
• Support implementation of data governance frameworks and standards
• Drive improvements in data quality, lineage, and metadata management
• Work with stakeholders to establish data ownership and stewardship
• Support use and adoption of data cataloguing and governance tools
• Assist with regulatory and compliance requirements (GDPR)
• Collaborate with data architecture and data management teams
Required Experience
• Experience in data governance, data management, or data quality roles
• Strong understanding of:
• Data quality
• Metadata
• Data lineage
• Hands-on exposure to tools such as:
• Collibra (key)
• Monte Carlo (desirable)
• Strong working knowledge of SQL and/or Python
• Experience working in cloud data environments
Nice to Have
• Exposure to AI tools (e.g. Claude)
• Experience in large, data-driven organisations
• Background in travel, e-commerce, or digital platforms
• Awareness of Snowflake (beneficial, not essential)
Important
• This role requires careful level alignment - suited to candidates with solid governance experience stepping into a broader ownership role
• Not suited to pure data engineers
Why Apply?
• Work within a high-impact data governance function
• Be part of a globally recognised digital business
• Opportunity to grow into a more senior data management role
• Competitive day rate outside IR35
