Power System OT Data Governance Analyst
Tempe, AZ | 12–24 Month Contract
We’re hiring a Data Governance Analyst to build a fit-for-purpose governance framework inside a major utility’s Operational Technology division. If you know how to bridge enterprise standards with the gritty realities of power grid data, this is your lane.
This is a contract role (1–2 years) embedded in an OT Strategic Services team. You'll drive collaboration across Data Services, Grid Data & Analytics, and Enterprise Data Governance—aligning, customizing, and executing governance strategies that actually work in an OT context.
What You'll Tackle
• Tailor governance playbooks: Review existing water/utility governance plans and rework them to suit OT systems—without breaking standards.
• IEC CIM alignment: Co-develop a RACI matrix with stakeholders for IEC CIM efforts; make sure diagrams, models, and naming are mapped, coordinated, and consistent.
• Enterprise reference data: Standardize naming conventions for critical power system assets. Build processes that stick. Deliver training and change management across OT.
• Embed governance into analytics workflows: Governance isn’t a bolt-on—it’s baked into how OT works. You’ll help make that real.
You Bring
• Fluency in OT, grid systems, and data lifecycle management
• Hands-on experience with Collibra or similar metadata tools
• Real-world familiarity with IEC CIM (Common Information Model) and naming convention governance
• A no-silos mindset—you're a systems thinker who can bring cross-functional teams into alignment
Why It Matters
This work raises the bar on data integrity across the power system. You're not just pushing process you’re enabling safer, faster, smarter decisions across the grid.
