Job Description
Birlasoft is seeking a seasoned Data Governance Consultant with hands-on experience in the Monte Carlo Data Observability platform. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of data governance principles, data quality management, and metadata strategy to support enterprise-level data governance initiatives. This is a remote position with limited travel required during key project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Serve as the subject matter expert for Monte Carlo Data Observability implementation and integration within enterprise data ecosystems.
β’ Define and execute data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures in alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
β’ Configure and operationalize Monte Carlo features such as anomaly detection, incident resolution workflows, and data reliability dashboards.
β’ Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure data quality, lineage, and integrity across systems.
β’ Develop and implement monitoring strategies using Monte Carlo for critical data pipelines and warehouse environments (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
β’ Drive adoption and training of data governance practices across stakeholders including IT, compliance, and business units.
β’ Conduct impact assessments, root cause analysis, and remediation plans for data quality incidents.
β’ Support the development of metadata management, data cataloging, and data stewardship capabilities.
β’ Create and maintain documentation for data governance standards, processes, and Monte Carlo configurations.
β’ Provide executive-level reporting and KPIs on data quality, coverage, and observability outcomes.
Required Qualifications
β’ 10+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or data management roles.
β’ Hands-on experience with the Monte Carlo Data Observability platform in a production environment.
β’ Strong understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK), data lineage, data profiling, and compliance standards.
β’ Proficiency in working with modern data platforms and cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
β’ Experience with data cataloging tools (e.g., Alation, Collibra, Informatica) is a plus.
β’ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
β’ Proven ability to work remotely and manage deliverables independently.
β’ Prior consulting experience or experience working with enterprise clients is strongly preferred.
Preferred Skills
β’ Exposure to data observability tooling ecosystems (e.g., Bigeye, Databand, Acceldata).
β’ Familiarity with ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestration tools like Airflow or dbt.
β’ Experience with data governance in regulated environments (e.g., financial services, healthcare).
β’ Ability to interface with both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
