Role description
Job Title: Data Governance Specialist (Collibra) Location: ,London Hybrid Job Type: Contract We are seeking a skilled Data Governance Specialist with hands-on experience in Collibra Data Intelligence Platform to lead and support data governance initiatives across the enterprise. The successful candidate will play a key role in defining, implementing, and maintaining data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, compliance, and consistency across business functions. Key Responsibilities Implement and manage data governance frameworks using Collibra to improve data quality, ownership, and compliance. Configure and maintain Collibra Data Governance Center (DGC), Data Catalog, and Lineage components. Define and document data standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory and business requirements. Collaborate with data stewards, data owners, and business units to drive adoption of governance best practices. Design and manage metadata models, business glossaries, and data dictionaries within Collibra. Integrate Collibra with enterprise data sources, BI tools, and data lakes for automated metadata ingestion and lineage tracking. Monitor and report on data governance KPIs and compliance metrics. Support data stewardship and quality management processes, including issue resolution and workflow management. Provide training, guidance, and support to business users on Collibra usage and data governance practices. Required Skills And Experience Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field. Proven experience (3+ years) in Data Governance, Metadata Management, or Data Quality functions. Hands-on experience with Collibra (configuration, workflow design, cataloging, policy setup, or lineage). Strong understanding of data management principles (DAMA DMBOK, DCAM, etc.). Experience working with data cataloging, data lineage, and business glossary tools. Familiarity with SQL, APIs, and ETL processes for metadata ingestion and integration. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation capabilities. Preferred Qualifications Collibra Ranger, Collibra Data Governance, or Collibra Workflow Engineer Certification. Experience with data governance in regulated industries (Finance, Healthcare, Utilities, etc.). Knowledge of data privacy and compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, BCBS 239). Exposure to other data tools such as Informatica Axon/EDC, Alation, Talend, or Azure Purview. Key Attributes Highly organized with attention to detail. Strong collaborator and influencer across business and IT functions. Ability to translate technical data concepts into business terms. Passionate about data quality, governance, and compliance.
