Role description
Job Summary: Data Governance Specialist • Serve as the data governance champion, driving consistency, compliance, and usability of enterprise data. • Act as a bridge between technical data teams and business stakeholders to establish governance frameworks and standards. • Design and implement an enterprise-wide data governance framework. • Manage and optimize the Snowflake data environment, including data modeling, access controls, and performance. • Operationalize governance tools such as Atlan, Collibra, or Alation. • Integrate data governance practices into ETL/ELT pipelines (using Azure Data Factory, SSIS). • Maintain and update business glossaries, data dictionaries, and data lineage documentation. • Monitor data quality metrics and lead remediation initiatives. • Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and manage user access. • Train and support data stewards and end-users on data governance best practices. • Work cross-functionally with data engineering, security, and analytics teams in a collaborative environment. • Contribute to the modernization of ERP systems and scaling of analytics, MDM, and data warehouse programs. • Participate in a high-visibility, strategic initiative with autonomy to influence data standards within a growing, tech-forward organization.
