What We’re Looking For
The Data and Impact Insights Lead will drive the acquisition, validation, interpretation, and communication of data that demonstrates the Maritime Decarbonisation Hub’s contribution to systems-level change. The role focuses on identifying and managing relationships with key data sources, designing and maintaining robust processes for data acquisition and appraisal, and producing actionable insights and stories that inform strategic decisions and external engagement. Working closely with the Hub’s subject matter experts, the postholder will ensure that evidence gathered is accurate, relevant, and compelling, supporting transparent reporting, internal learning, and stakeholder confidence in the Hub’s impact.

The role
• Design and maintain systems and processes for data acquisition, validation, and analysis, ensuring alignment with the Hub’s Theory of Change.
• Coordinate data interpretation and validation with subject matter experts across the Decarb Hub, embedding data-informed learning cycles in programme delivery.
• Produce high-quality data visualisations, stories, and insights that communicate the Hub’s contribution to systems-level shifts to internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and other tools that track key indicators, system signals, and proxy measures of transformation.
• Contribute to the development of the Evidence Centre’s strategic directions and support the continuous refinement of the Hub’s evidence framework and Theory of Change based on internal and external data trends and analysis.
• Present findings in internal and external forums, in formats tailored to varied audiences.
• Eliminate or minimise employee's exposure to risks by reviewing, regularly, the health and safety risk register, applying appropriate controls, communicating results of risk assessment and ensuring health and safety is considered in the planning and execution of all LR activities.
• Manage your own and your team's compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems and legal requirements, ensuring employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely.
• Monitor and review health and safety performance, observe safety behaviours in the workplace, taking appropriate corrective and preventative action as necessary and suggesting and implementing improvement activities.
What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, analytics, environmental studies, public policy, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

• Proven ability to design and implement data acquisition strategies and manage relationships with data providers and partners.
• Strong skills in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, with experience translating data into actionable insights and narratives.
• Experience designing dashboards, data communication tools, and evidence stories for varied audiences including senior leaders and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with systems thinking, proxy indicators, and sector-level change measurement approaches.
• Familiarity with the maritime and/or human safety sectors highly desirable.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and disciplines, facilitating joint interpretation and learning from data.
• Strong organisational and communication skills; capable of managing complex data projects to high standards and tight timelines.
• Proficient user of data analysis and visualisation tools, platforms and technologies, including but not limited to MS Excel, PowerBI
