Role description
Insight Global is looking for a Data Lineage Analyst to support one of our largest financial services clients in the Charlotte, NC area. This is a hybrid engagement, 3 days onsite and is slated to be a 24-month contract-based engagement. Data Lineage Analyst with hands-on experience in ASG Rocket Software Becubic. In this role, the resource will own the design, implementation, and maintenance of end-to-end data lineage solutions across our data ecosystem. They will collaborate closely with ETL developers, data stewards, and DBAs to ensure full visibility, auditability, and compliance for all critical data flows.
· Implement & Configure ASG Rocket beCubic to automatically harvest and visualize data lineage from RDBMS sources (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.) and ETL platforms.
· Develop Metadata Connectors and custom parsers for in-house or third-party ETL tools (Informatica, DataStage, Talend, SSIS, etc.), ensuring accurate capture of transformation logic.
· Maintain Lineage Models by validating, documenting, and remediating gaps in end-to-end data flow diagrams; collaborate with data owners to certify lineage completeness.
· Perform Impact Analysis for proposed changes, identifying upstream/downstream dependencies and communicating risks to data consumers and governance teams.
· Provide Operational Support and troubleshooting for lineage jobs, monitor job health, tune performance, and drive continuous improvements.
· Train & Guide business analysts and developers on lineage best practices, metadata standards, and usage of beCubic dashboards and reports.
Required Qualifications
· 5+ years of practical experience with ASG Rocket beCubic (formerly beCubic) or equivalent metadata-management tools.
· Strong background in RDBMS technologies: Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server (schema design).
· Hands-on experience with at least one major ETL tool (Informatica PowerCenter, IBM DataStage, SSIS).
· Proficiency in SQL for data profiling, lineage validation, and custom metadata extraction.
· Solid grasp of data governance concepts, data-quality frameworks, and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
· Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to articulate technical lineage insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
· Familiarity with additional data platforms (Teradata, Snowflake, BigQuery).
· Scripting experience (Python, Shell) for automating metadata ingestion and health checks.
· Exposure to enterprise metadata catalogs (Collibra) or data-ops tools.
· 2+ years working at Bank of America or other Tier 1 banking experience
