Data Management Analyst
Location: Charlotte, NC (Preferred) | San Francisco, CA | New York City, NY
Duration: 6 Months +
Rate: $61.50 w2
Join a leading Global Payments & Liquidity (GPL) analytics team supporting strategic analytics, risk controls, and reporting for payments and wire operations in a highly regulated financial services environment. This contract opportunity is based in Charlotte, NC (preferred), with additional locations in San Francisco and New York City, requiring a minimum of 3 days onsite per week. The role focuses on payments risk analytics, wire data analysis, and advanced SQL development using Microsoft SQL Server or Hive to support reporting, controls, and business decision-making in a contingent/W2 environment.
This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of payments, financial crimes regulation, and enterprise analytics while partnering directly with frontline risk teams, product SMEs, and business stakeholders. You’ll gain deep exposure to wire payment systems, risk controls, and high-impact banking operations while influencing how data is used to identify issues, strengthen controls, and improve decision-making. The role offers strong visibility, meaningful collaboration, and the ability to lead conversations around complex business and technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Contract Duration: 6 Months (Extension Possible)
Required Skills & Experience
· 5+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through consulting, education, military, or work experience
· 7+ years of business analytics experience, payments risk experience, or a combination of both
· 4+ years of writing complex SQL code in Microsoft SQL Server or Hive
· Experience parsing XML, delimited, and fixed data files
· Strong reporting and analytics experience including data pipelines, data transformation, and reporting for business analysts/executives
· Proven analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and strong attention to detail
· Experience performing business/data analysis within complex enterprise environments
· Ability to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week

· Knowledge of GPL products and services and Wholesale Banking
· Inquisitive mindset with the ability to quickly learn business concepts, processes, and details

· Strong organizational and change management skills
· Ability to work independently with minimal direction
