OverviewJob Title: Data Migration DeveloperLocation: Remote (with occasional travel to Dublin, 2 days every few weeks)Expenses paid for travelContract Length: 3-6 months (with a strong possibility of extension)The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Migration Developer to join our consulting client for a series of large-scale data migration projects. The successful candidate will be working with a leading financial services client, focusing on the migration and transformation of data within an Azure environment. This is a critical role that involves working across the full project lifecycle, from UAT and issue resolution through to production migration cutovers.This is a contract position offering a competitive day rate and the flexibility of remote work with occasional, expensed travel to Dublin. You will be joining a dynamic team and will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging and rewarding projects. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, and efficient data migration solutions using SQL-based tools and technologies. • Perform complex data transformation and manipulation to meet business requirements. • Work extensively within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, utilizing Azure SQL and other Azure data tooling. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of data migration projects. • Participate in all phases of the project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment. • Conduct and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and work to resolve any issues that arise. • Play a key role in production migration cutovers, ensuring a smooth and successful transition. • Troubleshoot and resolve data quality and data migration issues in a timely manner. Essential Skills & Experience • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a SQL Developer, Data Engineer, or similar role. • A proven track record of at least 5 years working on ETL and data migration projects. • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience working in Azure SQL environments. • Strong proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries and stored procedures. • In-depth knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling. • Experience with large-scale data migrations in the financial services industry is highly desirable. • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Desirable Skills • Experience with other Azure data services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics). • Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices. • Experience working in a consulting environment.
