Data Migration Engineer – Requirements Systems (No 3rd Party Vendors Allowed) Location: Irvine, CA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite) No C2C OR 3RD PARTY VENDORS ARE ALLOWED FOR THIS ROLE. Overview Blue Chip Talent is seeking a Data Migration Engineer to lead the migration of requirements and test management data from an existing enterprise platform into a new requirements tool. You’ll evaluate an existing Python-based migration approach and either enhance it or design a more robust custom solution to ensure accurate, high-fidelity data transfer. Responsibilities • Review and improve existing migration scripts or build a new framework • Design and implement ETL automation using REST APIs • Migrate complex data, including rich text, tables, and attachments • Preserve hierarchical structures and full traceability (requirements ↔ test cases) • Execute test migrations, validate data integrity, and support final cutover • Document and run migration plans and runbooks Qualifications • 3+ years of experience in data migration, automation, or systems integration • Strong Python (preferred) or Java skills • Hands-on experience with REST APIs and JSON/XML • Experience with requirements or test management tools; Jama Connect • Strong execution and documentation skills
