Role description
Key Responsibilities
· Assess existing Tableau dashboards, workbooks, and data extracts to identify migration scope.
· Redesign and rebuild dashboards in Looker, leveraging LookML semantic modeling for consistency and governance.
· Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure migrated dashboards meet reporting needs.
· Work with data engineering teams to optimize BigQuery datasets for Looker consumption.
· Establish reusable LookML models, explores, and views aligned to business KPIs.
· Perform validation and UAT to ensure migrated dashboards match Tableau outputs.
· Provide knowledge transfer, training, and documentation to business teams on Looker usage.
· Ensure compliance with data governance, access control, and security requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
· 10+ years of BI/Analytics experience with at least 3 years in Looker and 3+ years in Tableau.
· Demonstrated experience in end-to-end migration from Tableau to Looker in a large enterprise environment.
· Strong proficiency with LookML modeling, semantic layer design, and governance best practices.
· Hands-on experience integrating Looker with Google BigQuery (GCP).
· Expertise in SQL (preferably advanced SQL for BigQuery optimization).
· Strong understanding of BI/analytics lifecycle: requirements gathering, modeling, dashboarding, testing, and rollout.
· Experience working with telecom-scale datasets (call detail records, customer hierarchies, operational data) is a plus.
· Familiarity with version control for LookML (Git) and CI/CD best practices.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise between technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Certifications
· Looker Business Analyst or LookML Developer Certification
· Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer
· Tableau Desktop Specialist or higher

· Consultants or engineers with hands-on migration experience (not just general Tableau or Looker skills).
· Candidates who have worked in telecom, financial services, or other data-intensive industries.
· Professionals comfortable with both technical build (LookML, BigQuery, SQL) and business translation (KPIs, dashboard validation).
