Data Modeler
Location: Lake Mary, FL
Role Summary
The Data Modeler is responsible for delivering transparency into the current state of operational processes, data flows, and data lineage across enterprise platformsβparticularly within customer onboarding, profiling, and compliance domains. This role translates strategic business objectives into future-state operational and data models, ensuring alignment between business outcomes, data architecture, and technology solutions.
You will partner closely with business, technology, and compliance stakeholders to design scalable, high-quality data models that support regulatory, operational, and analytical needs.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Translate business concepts and requirements into logical and physical data models that ensure consistency, quality, and performance across systems.
β’ Design and maintain enterprise data models supporting customer onboarding, profiling, and compliance workflows.
β’ Document and analyze current-state data flows, processes, and lineage, and define future-state architecture aligned to strategic objectives.
β’ Perform gap analysis on existing data architecture and propose actionable, scalable solutions.
β’ Collaborate with business, compliance, and technology teams to gather requirements and explain technical concepts clearly.
β’ Ensure data models follow best practices in normalization, integration, optimization, and governance.
β’ Evaluate and apply new and emerging data technologies, modeling tools, and cloud-based solutions where appropriate.
β’ Produce clear documentation of models, architecture decisions, standards, and improvement roadmaps.
β’ Align data modeling efforts with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and long-term strategy.
Required Qualifications
β’ Proven experience as a Data Modeler, Data Architect, or similar role in complex enterprise environments.
β’ Strong expertise in database design and scalable data modeling (logical & physical).
β’ Solid understanding of data architecture principles including integration, normalization, lineage, and optimization.
β’ Experience with modern data modeling tools and cloud-based data platforms.
β’ Ability to translate business outcomes into effective data solutions.
β’ Strategic thinker with strong communication and collaboration skills.
β’ Excellent documentation and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience in Banking or Financial Services, especially customer onboarding, profiling, KYC/AML, or compliance systems.
β’ Familiarity with enterprise data governance and metadata management.
