Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler to support enterprise data initiatives for CTS / Albertsons. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing data models that support transactional, analytical, and reporting systems across the organization. This role requires close collaboration with business and technical teams to ensure data solutions align with business objectives, performance requirements, and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• Translate complex business requirements into effective data structures
• Define entities, attributes, relationships, constraints, and data rules
• Ensure data models support performance, scalability, and data integrity
• Collaborate with Data Architects, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Engineering teams
• Establish and enforce data modeling standards, conventions, and best practices
• Support data warehouse, data lake, and OLTP systems
• Review, analyze, and optimize existing data models for efficiency and accuracy
• Document metadata, data definitions, business rules, and data lineage
• Participate in data governance, data quality, and master data initiatives
• Provide guidance during development, testing, and deployment phases
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Strong hands-on experience with data modeling methodologies:
• Third Normal Form (3NF)
• Star Schema
• Snowflake Schema
• Proficiency in data modeling tools such as:
• ERwin
• ER/Studio
• PowerDesigner
• SQL Developer Data Modeler
• Solid understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
• Strong SQL skills with experience in RDBMS:
• Oracle
• SQL Server
• PostgreSQL
• MySQL
• Experience working with large, complex, and high-volume datasets
• Ability to clearly communicate technical designs to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
• Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and catalog tools
• Experience supporting BI, reporting, and analytics platforms
• Retail or supply chain domain experience is a plus
