Role description
Overview:
The Data Modeler will design, optimize, and implement data models for enterprise data on the Databricks Lakehouse platform. This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, data architects, and engineering teams, with a strong emphasis on healthcare data standards and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Translate business requirements into logical and physical data models.
β’ Build scalable, flexible, and performant data systems for reporting, analytics, machine learning, and AI workloads.
β’ Develop and optimize ETL pipelines and data structures.
β’ Design metadata artifacts to support data standardization and reuse.
β’ Ensure effective pipeline development with ETL/ELT developers.
β’ Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare data privacy regulations.
β’ Collaborate with data governance teams to ensure metadata accuracy and integrity.
β’ Work with data stewards to uphold data quality.
β’ Align with data architects on infrastructure and architecture.
β’ Support data scientists with data access and utilization.
β’ Assist data analysts with visualization and reporting.
β’ Handle healthcare data types including HL7, FHIR, EHR, EMR, billing, and operations.
Required Skills:
β’ Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
β’ 5+ years of experience in data modeling, architecture, and engineering.
β’ Experience with Databricks Lakehouse platform and Delta Lake.
β’ Familiarity with healthcare data standards and regulations (FHIR, HL7, EMR/EHR, billing, HIPAA).
β’ Proficiency with data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, ER/Studio).
β’ Strong skills in SQL, Python, and Spark.
β’ Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
