Role description
Lead Data Product Architect/Modeller
London
Contract | 3-6 Months (Potential for extension)
Up to £500 p/d (Negotiable)
This is a Greenfield build to turn messy, multi-source data (docs/filings + structured) into dependable, discoverable data products that ship value fast involving:
• Domain model & taxonomy
• (issuer/instrument/event) — conceptual → logical → physical.
• Data product contracts
• (JSON schemas, SLAs, versioning, deprecation).
• Harmonised feed/mart
• Snowflake with lineage/glossary and KPI dashboard (adoption, latency, completeness).
Accountabilities
• Partner with Product to define personas and success metrics; ship thin-slice products in weeks.
• Design for APIs/feeds consumption; keep schemas stable while iterating safely.
• Land lineage/metadata and CDEs; make models discoverable (Collibra or similar).
• Change & governance guardrails that teams can actually use, not shelfware.
• De-risk unstructured→structured mapping with confidence scores and traceable provenance.
• Coach squads on domain boundaries, keys, SCDs, and PII handling.
Must-haves
• 8+ years in data modelling/architecture delivering production data products.
• Strong Snowflake (or equivalent cloud DW), SQL, and contract-first design.
• Proven lineage/metadata practice (Collibra/Atlan/DataHub) and governance at pace.
• Comfortable harmonising documents/filings/events with structured entities.
• Clear stakeholder comms with Product/Engineering; outcome-driven, not academic.
Nice-to-haves
• Financial-services semantics (FIBO/BIAN/ISO 20022) or research/markets data experience.
• Data Vault 2.0, MDM (e.g., Profisee), and BI productization experience.
