Role description
Job Title: Data Modeler with FRY 14 Mortgage experience Location: Charlotte, NC 3 days/week onsite (Need local candidates) Duration: 12+Months We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler to support a strategic Home Lending Data Modernization and Regulatory Reporting Transformation initiative. The program aims to modernize and simplify the Home Lending data ecosystem by migrating legacy data platforms and reporting processes to a scalable, cloud-based architecture on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) utilizing Big Query. The Data Modeler will play a critical role in designing enterprise-scale data models supporting FR Y-14M Mortgage Reporting, regulatory reporting, risk management, data governance, analytics, and self-service reporting capabilities. The role requires strong expertise in banking data, mortgage servicing and origination data, regulatory reporting, and cloud-based data modeling practices. Role Summary The Data Modeler will be responsible for developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models for Home Lending and FR Y-14M reporting domains. The individual will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, regulatory reporting teams, data architects, data engineers, business analysts, governance teams, and cloud engineering teams to establish standardized and scalable data structures within the GCP ecosystem. This role requires a deep understanding of mortgage data, loan lifecycle processes, regulatory reporting data requirements, and cloud-native data architecture patterns. Key Responsibilities Data Modeling & Architecture • Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for Home Lending and Regulatory Reporting domains. • Develop scalable data models optimized for Google Big Query. • Create enterprise data structures supporting below or similar: • Mortgage Origination • Mortgage Servicing • Customer Information • Collateral Data • Loan Performance • Delinquency Management • Loss Mitigation • Regulatory Reporting • Define data relationships, cardinality, business rules, and metadata standards. • Design canonical and harmonized data models across multiple source systems. FR Y-14M Regulatory Reporting or similar • Analyze and model data required for FR Y-14M schedules including: • First Lien Mortgage • Home Equity • Loan-Level Performance Reporting • Borrower Information • Property Information • Servicing Data • Delinquency & Default Data • Translate regulatory requirements into data attributes and reporting structures. • Ensure data model compliance with Federal Reserve reporting requirements. • Support regulatory examinations, audits, and data lineage documentation. Data Modernization • Support migration of legacy warehouse and reporting environments to GCP. • Model data ingestion, transformation, and reporting layers. • Design data models for: • Raw Layer • Curated Layer • Business Layer • Reporting Layer • Define standards for reusable data assets and reporting datasets. • Partner with architects to implement modern cloud-based data architecture patterns. Data Governance & Quality • Establish enterprise data standards and naming conventions. • Define business metadata and technical metadata. • Collaborate with governance teams on: • Data Quality Rules • Data Lineage • Data Controls • Reference Data Management • Data Cataloging • Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance frameworks. Stakeholder Management • Collaborate with: • Business Analysts • Product Owners • Regulatory Reporting Teams • Data Engineers • Data Architects • Controls Teams • Risk Management Teams • Conduct data discovery workshops and model review sessions. • Present data model designs to business and technical stakeholders. Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Finance, or related discipline.
