Role: Data Modeler
Location: Pittsburg, PA-Onsite
Duration: 6 months Contract to Hire
We are looking for a skilled Data Modeler with a strong background in Oracle databases and PL/SQL programming. The right candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:
Data Modeler Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar field.
8+ years of hands-on experience with physical and relational data modeling using Oracle database.
Expert knowledge of metadata management and related tools.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Advanced troubleshooting skills.
ETL knowledge is preferred but not mandatory.
Data Modeler Responsibilities:
Analyzing and translating business needs into long-term solution data models using Oracle database.
Evaluating existing data systems.
Facilitate creation/migration of data objects (DDL) across Development/Quality Assurance/Production.
Working with the development team to create conceptual data models and data flows.
Experience extracting data from various databases and analyzing large data sets for conversion into useful business information.
Collaborate in meetings with product owners to understand the functional requirements
Establish Standards, Guidelines, and Best Practices around data modeling initiatives.
Developing best practices for data coding to ensure consistency within the system.
Reviewing modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility.
Implementing data strategies and developing physical data models.
Updating and optimizing local and metadata models.
Evaluating implemented data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency.
Troubleshooting and optimizing data systems.
Strong knowledge of Oracle database and PL/SQL programming. Writing and optimizing PL/SQL statements for data manipulation and retrieval.
Conducting performance tuning of PL/SQL queries and optimizing database performance.
Experience with tools like Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD, etc
