Senior Data Modeler / Modeller – GCP / BigQuery / Data Vault 2.0 / DBT We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Data Modeller / Modeler with strong hands-on expertise in BigQuery, DBT, and Data Vault 2.0 to design and implement scalable enterprise data models on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Inside IR35, initial 6 month contract and looking to pay £600 per day. This role requires someone who can independently design, implement and optimise Data Vault models within DBT, ensuring robust, scalable, and high-performing data structures to support analytics and business-critical reporting. You will work closely with Data Engineers, Architects and Analytics teams to ensure models are both technically strong and aligned to business needs. Key Responsibilities • Design and implement enterprise-scale data models in BigQuery • Build and implement Data Vault 2.0 models using DBT (Hubs, Links, Satellites) • Define and enforce data modelling standards, patterns and governance frameworks • Translate business requirements into scalable logical and physical models • Optimise BigQuery performance, partitioning and cost efficiency • Ensure strong data lineage, traceability and auditability • Support architecture decisions across the data lifecycle • Collaborate closely with engineering and analytics teams • Mentor teams on best practice enterprise modelling approaches Must Have Experience • Strong hands-on experience with BigQuery in production environments • Proven experience implementing Data Vault 2.0 models (not just theoretical knowledge) • Strong experience using DBT to build and manage transformations • Ability to design and optimise enterprise-scale data models • Advanced SQL skills, including performance tuning and optimisation • Strong understanding of data lineage, governance and modelling standards
