Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler to support enterprise data warehousing and analytics initiatives within a large, regulated organization. This role will focus on designing and maintaining high-quality data models that enable reporting, analytics, and downstream data products across cloud and on-prem platforms.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with data modeling tools, cloud data platforms, and governance-driven design practices, along with the ability to collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support data warehouse and analytical solutions.
• Translate business requirements and data rules into scalable and well-structured data designs.
• Partner with data stewards, engineers, architects, and business teams to ensure models align with enterprise standards.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, metadata, and naming conventions across all models.
• Optimize data models for performance through indexing, partitioning, and structural improvements.
• Enhance and support existing analytical and common data models, including those sourced from transactional systems.
• Provide ongoing support and documentation for data models used across analytics and reporting platforms.
Required Skills & Experience
• 7+ years of experience in data modeling and data architecture roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with data modeling tools such as ERwin / erwin Modeler, iGrafx, or MS Visio.
• Experience designing data models within Salesforce environments.
• Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, or Google BigQuery.
• Familiarity with data transformation and analytics tools such as dbt.
• Understanding of metadata management, data governance, and enterprise data standards.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
• Exposure to advanced analytics or data science platforms (e.g., Domino Data Lab, Google Vertex AI, AnyLogic).
• Experience working with data catalog and visualization tools such as Alation, Tableau, or Adobe Experience Cloud.
• Prior experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
• Background supporting healthcare or transactional data models.
