Job Title – Data Pipeline Engineer (Active TS/SCI Clearance – Federal Project)
Location – Georgetown, Washington, DC, United States (100% Onsite)

About the Role
We are seeking a Data Pipeline Engineer to support a high-visibility U.S. Federal Program based in Washington, DC. The selected candidate will play a key role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and reliability of production data pipelines, directly supporting mission-critical federal operations.
You will collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams to troubleshoot, optimize, and improve complex data workflows, leveraging technologies such as Java, Python, and C++, while working closely with client stakeholders under an active TS/SCI clearance environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop a deep understanding of enterprise-grade data systems and workflows supporting U.S. Government missions.
• Diagnose, resolve, and prevent operational issues within complex data pipelines and production systems.
• Build automation, monitoring, and alerting tools to ensure data pipeline reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to enhance scalability, resilience, and fault tolerance across production workflows.
• Perform root cause analysis and coordinate permanent solutions to recurring data issues.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support mission-critical production environments.
• Provide technical feedback and recommendations for process and product improvements.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
• 3–7 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer / Data Pipeline Reliability Engineer / Software Engineer.
• Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or JavaScript.
• Solid understanding of data pipelines, workflow orchestration, and ETL/ELT frameworks.
• Strong communication skills and proven success in client-facing federal environments.
• Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis, incident management, and performance optimization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with Apache Spark, Hadoop, or parallel data processing environments.
• Familiarity with Palantir Foundry, AWS Data Services, or similar data management tools.
• Previous work in federal or defense projects with mission-critical system reliability requirements.
• Practical knowledge of CI/CD automation, data validation, and system health monitoring.
• Ability to translate technical findings into clear communication for non-technical stakeholders.
