Job Title: Data Platform & Python Engineer
Location: Los Altos, CA – Hybrid (Only Local)
Type: Contract (W2 or Own Corp Only)
Role Overview
Looking for a Python-focused Data Platform & Visualization Engineer to help optimize and scale data ingestion workflows from vehicles and simulations into AWS. The role is backend-heavy with some light frontend (dashboards/visualization) and requires strong collaboration and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and maintain Python data ingestion pipelines handling large-scale vehicle, camera, and LiDAR data
• Optimize data uploads to AWS S3 under bandwidth constraints
• Improve and maintain queuing/orchestration logic for data transfer and processing
• Develop backend APIs (FastAPI/Flask) and SQL-backed metrics systems
• Build simple web-based dashboards to navigate, filter, and tag data (digital asset management)
• Use AWS services (S3, EC2, Lambda) for automation, metadata, and processing
• Collaborate closely with researchers and cross-functional teams
Required Skills
• Strong Python (data pipelines, services)
• Strong SQL (Postgres/MySQL)
• AWS experience (S3, EC2; Lambda preferred)
• Backend API development (FastAPI/Flask)
• Basic frontend/dashboard experience (React, Plotly, Vega)
• 3–5 years of relevant experience (2+ years with strong projects considered)
Nice to Have
• ML experiment tracking, data lineage/provenance
• Workflow orchestration frameworks
• LLM-based automation or annotation tools
