We are seeking a Data Privacy Analyst on a contract basis to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is 100% remote.
This role will support the company's privacy program by ensuring compliance with U.S. federal and state privacy laws, industry standards, and internal policies. This role involves monitoring data handling practices, conducting privacy impact assessments, managing consumer rights requests, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to mitigate privacy risks.
Responsibilities
• Review and assess privacy risks related to member, customer, employee, and other personal data through project-based privacy risk and privacy impact assessments
• Develop and maintain clear, concise documentation capturing privacy risk assessments, findings, and recommendations
• Configure, manage, and maintain governance, risk, and compliance systems of record to track privacy risks in coordination with internal stakeholders
• Maintain an accurate data inventory and records of personal data processing activities
• Partner with business owners and technologists to identify, design, implement, and test privacy controls that reduce organizational risk
• Monitor and interpret state, federal, and international privacy laws, regulatory regimes, and enforcement trends
• Translate external privacy requirements into actionable guidance for business teams
• Provide privacy guidance, education, training, and resources to increase organizational awareness and adoption of privacy best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to advance privacy program objectives while maintaining a strong business mindset
• Build and sustain a network of privacy advocates who promote Privacy by Design principles across business activities
• Process and track consumer privacy requests, including access, deletion, and opt-out requests, in compliance with applicable laws
• Coordinate with IT and business units to fulfill consumer privacy requests accurately and within required timelines
Skills And Qualifications
• Advanced degree or 4+ years of post-graduate professional experience in a relevant field
• 2+ years of experience working in privacy, either in-house or within a regulatory agency
• Experience working on a privacy operations team and with governance, risk, and compliance processes
• Advanced knowledge of privacy risk management methodologies, including privacy or impact assessments and product counseling
• Strong understanding of privacy laws, regulations, self-regulatory regimes, and industry best practices
• Demonstrated interest in privacy and data protection
• Current IAPP certification, preferably CIPP/US or CIPT
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly across diverse audiences
• Strong ability to set priorities, manage workload effectively, and deliver high-quality work on time
• Proven ability to execute effectively, use resources efficiently, and keep stakeholders informed
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and influence across the organization
• Ability to consider the impact of decisions on internal and external customers
• Willingness to challenge the status quo, champion change, and influence others toward improvement
Preferred
• Experience or knowledge within the retail industry
• Experience working in a digital-forward or highly innovative environment
• Experience reviewing privacy-related legal language in B2B and B2C contexts
• Third-party risk management experience
• Experience working with OneTrust or similar privacy management platforms
• Flexible mindset with the ability to support evolving business direction
• Ability to use business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment to solve problems
• Experience consolidating information from multiple sources to support sound decision-making
