About the Role
CMS Energy is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Data Processing Specialist to join our Ge-Con team. The Ge-Con department supports gas construction operations across the state and acts as a central liaison between field process teams and management. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing, tracking, and reporting data related to job completions, safety incidents, and operational metrics, with a strong emphasis on Power BI dashboards and Excel-based reporting.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Receive and process daily job completion data from field teams.
β’ Disseminate information from union-level personnel to management.
β’ Compile and distribute internal communications.
β’ Track and report safety incidents, job stoppages, and field-level moral issues.
β’ Maintain dashboards and generate visual reports using Power BI.
β’ Develop and update PowerPoint presentations for leadership and internal stakeholders.
β’ Maintain performance tracking for targets vs. actuals.
β’ Participate in statewide team sessions and meetings, with occasional travel (typically to Lansing).
Required Skills & Qualifications
β’ Minimum of 5+ years' experience in data processing or administrative roles in an office setting.
β’ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
β’ Familiarity with Power BI dashboard creation and maintenance.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
β’ Experience in tracking metrics, creating workflows, and managing large data sets.
β’ Strong communication and organizational skills.
β’ Ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
β’ Experience with Microsoft Access.
β’ Exposure to construction site operations and understanding of union/nonunion dynamics.
β’ Familiarity with continuous improvement processes.
β’ Background in accounting or financial data tracking is a plus.
