Role description
Job Title: Data Protection Engineer Job Duration: 24 months contract Location: Jersey City, NJ 07310 Pay Range: $63/ hour on W2 Job Description: This position is for a mid to senior level Data Protection Administrator in a large, diverse application environment consisting mostly of Unix, Windows, ESX servers. Hours: Candidate must be willing to provide 24 • 7 on-call support including some weekend work Required Expertise: Tivoli Spectrum Protect (TSM), Client Netbackup , Veeam, Client Netbackup Appliance, SLP, EClient Data Domain, NDMP, Tape Library, Linux , Windows. Primary skills: Linux, Windows, Client, Oracle, MSSQL, Sybase Primary Tasks: • Work with Linux/Windows administrators on troubleshooting backup/restore issues • Install, patch, upgrade Spectrum Protect and Client Netbackup products • Day to day administration of backups for NetApp NAS, Client and physical servers. • Regular/periodic operational tasks include: • Install and setup data protection SW • Periodic patching and upgrading the DP SW • Generate backup reports on demand • Satisfy periodic audit requests • Handle Service Now tickets for backup, restores, schedule changes, etc. • Manage Disk/Tape hardware (Data Domain and LTO tape drives) • Liaison with vendors on support cases • Work as escalation for Unix and Windows backups troubleshooting Good to have skills: • Experience with Linux/Unix, command line, shell and python programming, API programming • Experience with SAN and NAS technologies • Knowledge on cyber recovery and air gap technologies
