Role description
Data Protection Officer - Temporary Assignment We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Data Protection Officer to support their data protection and information governance functions. This is a temporary 3-month assignment with hybrid working, requiring office attendance in Bournemouth twice per month. Key Responsibilities: • Provide expert advice and guidance on UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 • Oversee and respond to data breach incidents, including notification to the ICO where required • Develop and implement Freedom of Information (FOI) case management systems and policies • Monitor compliance with data protection legislation and internal policies • Support Subject Access Requests (SARs) and other data subject rights requests • Maintain and update Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) and related documentation • Deliver training, awareness, and advice to staff on data protection and information governance • Liaise with regulators, stakeholders, and internal departments as required Requirements: • In-depth knowledge of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 • Proven experience in managing data breaches and ICO reporting • Experience implementing and maintaining FOI processes and case management systems • Strong understanding of Subject Access Requests (SARs) and individual rights under GDPR • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills • Ability to interpret and apply complex legislation into practical advice • Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities Assignment Details: • Duration: 3 months (temporary assignment) • Hours: 37 per week • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm • Location: Hybrid, with office attendance in Bournemouth twice per month
