This is an exciting opportunity to join Deloitte Operations for an engagement with one of our clients.
The Role
We are currently supporting a leading capital markets firm in London with the hire of a Data / Software Engineers to join their regulatory reporting technology team on a contract basis.
This is a hands-on software development role within regulatory reporting, focused on building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and controls that support EMEA transaction reporting obligations.
You will be working in a fast-paced engineering environment, supporting critical regulatory reporting systems and large-scale financial data processing.
Key Responsibilities
รยท Design, build, and maintain Python-based data pipelines supporting EMEA regulatory transaction reporting (e.g. MiFID II, EMIR, SFTR)
รยท Develop and enhance scalable ETL/ELT workflows using Apache Airflow
รยท Work with large-scale financial datasets to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of regulatory submissions
รยท Build automated data quality checks, controls, and reconciliation frameworks
รยท Develop and optimise SQL queries and data models (including BigQuery environments)
รยท Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, data, and regulatory reporting teams
รยท Contribute to software engineering best practices including testing, code reviews, and CI/CD processes
Key Skills & Experience
รยท Strong Python development experience (production-grade engineering, not scripting)
รยท Solid experience with SQL and relational data modelling
รยท Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow (building and maintaining DAGs)
รยท Experience working with large-scale data processing systems
รยท Familiarity with SQLAlchemy and/or BigQuery
รยท Strong understanding of capital markets products and trade lifecycle
รยท Exposure to EMEA regulatory transaction reporting regimes (MiFID II, EMIR, SFTR, FCA reporting, etc.)
รยท Experience with Git and version control workflows
รยท Experience writing unit tests (e.g. pytest) and working in CI/CD environments
