Data Quality Specialist

IO Datasphere, Inc. has been providing project management, software development and IT staff augmentation services to our clients in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. since 1996. We are an approved vendor on contract to provide software development and IT staff augmentation services for the States of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide. Our client is looking for a Data Quality Specialist. This position leads data quality efforts on the Data Quality Team. This includes providing technical consultation at the provider level, maintaining and promoting use of data quality tools, providing regular data quality reports and recommendations, and leading data quality activities. Tasks 45% - Data Quality Activities • Design, create and manage Data Quality documentation, following unit guidelines and update as needed based on state and national recommendations. • Lead WIR Unit staff focused on data quality initiatives. • Develop and provide regular, and ad hoc data quality summary reports to the Unit Supervisor. • Provide SQL query support to other teams (DAT Deduplication, Data Exchange, etc.) as needed. • Manage WIR data quality tools/queries, and regularly assess and recommend (if necessary) development changes to the tools/queries. • Provide subject matter expertise for development/maintenance focused on data quality and/or data quality tools. 35% - Technical Assistance and Training • Direct WIR Unit staff on data quality issue identification and resolution. • Provide direction to providers utilizing data quality assessment report cards. • Train internal users on data quality and systems reporting tools/activities. • Promote the use of data quality tools with internal and external users. 10% - Data Quality Coordination • Plan and develop data quality and operational improvement projects for IIS, including coordination of quality control reports. • Evaluate program operations related to data quality; recommend actions to improve completeness and accuracy of data and streamline operational processes. • Identify potential risks and difficulties in applying data quality interventions and design strategies to mitigate or avoid them. 10% - WIR Unit Support • Participate in Unit meetings and project activities. • Provide support to other unit areas as directed by the Unit Supervisor. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: • Advanced skill in communicating in writing, orally, electronically and in person. NOTE: Candidate MUST be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role at their own expense. Position is 100% remote within the state of WI. Location: Madison, WI (Remote from within the State of WI) Contract: 1+ years Skills Required: • 4-7 years - Experience in work focused on resolving data quality issues with health data • 4-7 years - Experience in data analysis/assessment using SQL queries, or similar. • 1-3 years - Experience leading a team focused on data quality (or similar) efforts. Skills Desired A plus to have: • 1-3 years - Experience working with immunization records in either an Immunization Information System, Electronic Health Record, or similar software. • 1-3 years - Experience in work focused on data exchange of health data (ASCII flat file, HL7, or similar formats). • Rate depends on experience • Candidates authorized to work in the US are encouraged to apply.
