Nature and Scope of Job
The Data Science Lead is responsible for performing complex data research and analysis to support business operations. This role creates data mining architectures, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets and inform business decisions. The position manages a department or small unit, including multiple teams, and communicates with executive leadership to influence business practices and approaches.
Primary Responsibilities
β’ Create data mining architectures, models, and protocols to identify trends in large data sets.
β’ Develop statistical reporting and data analysis methodologies.
β’ Apply knowledge of existing and emerging data science principles to inform business decisions.
β’ Conduct scientific research projects to advance data analytics.
β’ Influence others to accept practices and approaches; communicate with executive leadership.
β’ Set objectives, delegate tasks, and ensure operational success.
β’ Shape company policies, tackle complex problems, and meet budgets and schedules.
β’ Manage projects, influence organizational goals, maintain frequent communication with peers and customers, and lead teams and projects as a best practice/quality resource.

β’ Performs other related duties and assignments as required
Qualifications
β’ Independently applies innovation to highly complex situations; capable of making improvement recommendations and guiding others in creative ideation.
β’ Competent in using Industry Tools for data analysis and visualization.
β’ Applies business intelligence tools and concepts with minimal guidance.
β’ Implements artificial intelligence solutions in routine and some complex situations.
β’ Creates effective data visualizations and delivers persuasive presentations; mentors others in presentation skills.
β’ Fully independent in influencing others and coaching on influencing skills.
β’ Utilizes Power BI to create and manage reports and dashboards.
β’ Executes data warehousing tasks and applies economic theories with minimal guidance.
β’ Applies advanced decision-making and forecasting methods; mentors others in these processes.
Education & Certifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or related field.
β’ Masterβs Degree preferred

Compensation
Salary/Hourly Rate Range (W2): USD 80.00 - 105.00
The base salary/hourly rate range represents the anticipated low and high end of the USDMβs compensation range for this position. Actual salaries/hourly rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidateβs qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. The compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described based on market survey data or budget.
Full-time employees are eligible for health, vision, and dental insurance, life insurance, short and long-term disability, hospital indemnity, accident, and critical care coverage.
Both full and part-time employees, who are at least 21 years of age, are eligible to participate in USDM's 401k plan. Full and part-time employees may be eligible for paid time off.
