Role description
Robert Half's client is seeking a Data Scientist with media and advertising experience. This position will be supporting a project to design, build, and maintain an Audience Household (HH) Graph, a core data asset that connects people, devices, and households to enable cross-platform audience activation, targeting, and measurement across the digital advertising ecosystem. This role will work closely with data scientists, product managers, and ad tech partners (DSPs, SSPs, and clean rooms) to unify fragmented identifiers and power scalable audience solutions for programmatic, CTV, and omnichannel campaigns. Key Responsibilities: • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest, process, and unify multi-source identity data (device IDs, IPs, emails, cookies, CRM, CTV IDs) into a graph-based model. • Design and optimize graph data structures representing relationships between individuals, devices, and households to support audience matching, lookalike modeling, and reach deduplication. • Integrate data from DSPs, SSPs, DMPs, CDPs, and clean rooms to enable audience onboarding, enrichment, and campaign measurement. • Establish robust data validation, deduplication, and probabilistic/deterministic matching pipelines to ensure accuracy and compliance with privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA). • Ensure the household graph supports real-time or near-real-time audience activation across millions of households and billions of identifiers. • Partner with Data Science, Product, and Ad Operations teams to operationalize audience data into DSP workflows, measurement systems, and optimization platforms. • Build dashboards and monitoring tools to track data quality, match rates, and audience graph performance across DSP integrations and media channels. • Create data models and pipelines, integrating data from 1P, 2P & 3P data providers for building a data spine that supports Household Graph (HHG) build, • Create a HHG and maintain its updates. Create data models and pipelines, integrating HHG to support campaign lifecycle management and insights app (named, Ad Sales app) Requirements: • Bachelor's degree required • Must have worked at an advertising technology company or agency or tv publisher within ad sales • 8+ years data engineering & data architecture experience and at least 3 years in ad tech. • Expertise in SQL, Python, ERD, GCP (All GCP services, GCP adapter, especially BigQuery, GCS, Cloud Function, Composer), DBT with active hands-on experience in the last 3-5 years. • Possess the knowledge of Modern Data Technology released in the last 2-3 years. • Good experience operating within AdSales system. • Experience in MTA - Multi-touch attribution / MMModels - Media Mixed Modeling. • Experience with OTT and media. • Must be able to design and optimize conceptual and logical database models. • In-depth understanding of database structure principles. • Expertise in implementing and maintaining data pipelines. • Deep knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques. • Must be able to analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data to identify trends and patterns. • Experience automating processes using AI tools and programming. • Publisher, broadcaster, streaming, or ad-tech measurement experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with ACR, set-top box, or streaming viewership data is a strong plus. This is a 12 month+ contract position that will be hybrid 4 days/week in NYC 10158 for the first 3 months, then hybrid 2-3 days/week for the remainder of the contract.
