Title: Data Scientist Location: Dallas, TX- 100% onsite in Irving, TX Workplace type: 100% onsite (M-F, 40 hour work week) Type: Contract Pay: $40-42 MAX/hour on w2 IV type: 1-2 rounds with client hiring team Length: 6 months- possibility to extend Screenings: full panel drug and background once hired +optional benefits and 401K Must haves: • Years of experience: min3+ years • Degree requirement: min Bachelors • SQL—ability to write complex queries (will request sample queries prior to interview) • Minimum 3 years’ experience with Tableau or Power BI—must be able to connect multiple data sources and build front-end aesthetics that conform to the team look and feel • Experience with large datasets (1M+ rows of data) • Experience working with different databases (ex - Snowflake, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server) • Experience with multiple validation techniques • (Desired) • Minimum 3 years’ experience with Python • Minimum 3 years’ experience with Snowflake • Proven success working in a complex matrix environment Soft Skills • (Required) • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills • Excellent time management skills • Confidence to request support or ask questions to gain clarity as needed • Willingness to support teammates and work in a highly collaborative environment • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision • (Desired) • Willingness to share knowledge and support teammates on projects • Excellent communication skills and experience presenting to senior stakeholders • A proven track record of building cross-functional relationships with diversified departments • Ability to remain calm under pressure • A strong customer focus and awareness of company products and product applications JOB PURPOSE: The CI Data Analytics team within Customer Solutions – Growth Regions is seeking a talented and motivated Data Scientist to develop analyses that support strategic analytics projects, including building and maintaining custom dashboards, ad hoc and recurring reporting, and working with business partners to identify and implement the right data solutions. Our team’s mission is to use data to support the division strategy. This role will require a broad technical skillset as well as understanding of the construction industry and client data structures and sources. JOB DUTIES: The Data Scientist I will participate on cross-functional project teams in order to solve a problem presented by a client Business Unit or Service Organization, a client Dealer, or a client Customer. The key role of this second level data scientist position is to move from learning and assisting others to learning to contribute independently. The Data Scientist I is expected to become familiar with the company’s processes, products, and organization. Work is typically directed by a project or team lead who might review both methods and results. Challenges include meeting expectations in delivering results, learning to consider alternative courses of action, making timely decisions, developing communication skills, working with people, and pushing the technical bounds of experimentation while meeting customer commitments. This role requires the ability to juggle multiple tasks for various stakeholders with different timelines. Individuals in this position might expect to have several assignments allowing them to gain experience on multiple projects. They will be expected to apply theory and concept in contributing to the solution in the assigned area. The job function may include data collection and analysis; development, validation, application, and refinement of statistical models; application of related digital technologies in processing both the inputs and outputs from the models. The Data Scientist I demonstrates an expanded breadth of knowledge and the ability to handle basic issues independently. They also demonstrate very good communication skills; planning and organization, teamwork, and decision-making skills; a strong concern for customers; a strong focus on continual learning in the Analytics field; and has basic knowledge of client Inc., and its products and services. Basic Qualifications: • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering, computer science, statistics, economics, mathematics, or a similar field with quantitative coursework, and 1-2 years of professional experience utilizing quantitative analysis is required, or a Master’s or PhD degree. • Must be comfortable working in industry standard statistics, analytics, and data visualization packages (SQL, python, and Tableau or Power BI). • Must demonstrate strong initiative, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively. • Must have prior experience working with large datasets (1M+ rows of data) Top Candidates Will Also Have: • Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree in Applied Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Business Intelligence & Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Science + X, Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Industrial, Agricultural, etc.), Informatics, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, MBA with Technical Undergrad, Predictive Analytics, Statistics, or equivalent technical degree. • Experience with advanced data analysis and statistical methods such as regression, hypothesis testing, ANOVA, statistical process control, etc. • Practical applications of machine learning techniques such as Clustering, Logistic Regression, CART, Random Forests, SVM or Neural Networks. • Strong technical and problem-solving skills and evidence of continuous learning in the analytics field • 2+ years of experience applying python (NumPy, SciPy, pandas, etc) programming to solve business challenges • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc) • Strong initiative to research and apply new methods and digital technologies to exceed customer expectations. • Good communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills • minimum 3 years’ experience • Position’s Contributions to Work Group:This role will support the Data Analytics team’s mission to provide dashboards and reporting solutions that allow our internal business partners to identify insights and build initiatives. This role will have global business partners. • We are looking for an individual to provide data visualization solutions that enable actionable business insights. We provide data solutions that support our broader global team as they work to achieve targets.
