Data Scientist 2
Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Data Scientist for a contract position in Redmond, WA. The opportunity will be one year with a strong chance for a long-term extension.
Position Summary: This role focuses on enabling the team to understand business metrics, manipulate big data, conduct exploratory data analyses, and apply statistical or machine learning modeling techniques to generate insights and hypotheses. The position involves building and maintaining reports and dashboards, and effectively communicating outcomes to leadership teams.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
β’ Contribute to weekly business metric reporting by analyzing metric movements, clearly communicating the status of metrics, and building or maintaining dashboards.
β’ Process and analyze big data datasets, usage funnels, and long-term trends using statistical and machine learning modeling. Use a hypothesis-driven approach to identify opportunities, patterns, and pain points in the end user's journey, providing recommendations to leadership teams to drive customer satisfaction, acquisition, engagement, and retention.
β’ Collaborate with other data scientists, developers, product managers, and feature teams, as well as partner teams like finance, business, and marketing, to help drive business growth.
Qualifications:
β’ Years of Experience Required: 2-4 years of experience in the field.
β’ Degrees or Certifications Required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Econometrics, Economics, or a related field.
β’ Ideal Candidate: Strong understanding of data and successful completion of data analysis and reporting projects.
β’ Performance Indicators: Assessed based on the quality of work.
β’ 2-4 years of experience with scripting languages such as SQL, Python, etc.
β’ 2-4 years of experience working with big data platforms like Databricks or equivalent.
β’ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Econometrics, Economics, or a related field.
β’ 2-4 years of experience in business insights, data analytics, and data science.
β’ Proficiency in at least one scripting language and data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R, or similar.
β’ Experience with reporting tools like PowerBI, Excel, etc.
β’ Experience with big data platforms like Databricks, Cosmos, or equivalent.
β’ Strong written and oral communication skills.
β’ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
β’ Demonstrated history of success.
β’ Passion for working with data and helping businesses make better data-driven decisions.
