📍 Sheffield (3 days onsite)
Our client is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to support enterprise transformation and operational optimisation initiatives within a complex technology environment. This role is focused on analysing transformation workstreams, identifying strategic priorities, and driving data-led recommendations to improve operational efficiency, workload management, and technology transformation planning. This is a highly collaborative role within a large enterprise setting, requiring strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to convert operational insights into actionable transformation recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyse enterprise transformation workstreams and operational processes
• Assess current-state technology operations and identify optimisation opportunities
• Recommend transformation priorities and delivery sequencing for future programmes
• Work closely with business and technology teams to support strategic decision-making
• Evaluate workload orchestration and scheduling processes within enterprise environments
• Support transformation planning through data analysis and operational insight generation
• Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvement, and operational modernisation
• Deliver clear reporting, recommendations, and stakeholder presentations
Required Skills & Experience
• Strong experience working on enterprise transformation or operational improvement initiatives
• Ability to analyse technology operations and recommend transformation priorities
• Experience with workload orchestration and scheduling tooling, particularly:
• BMC Control-M or similar BMC tooling
• Knowledge of mainframe scheduling and operational environments
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to translate operational findings into strategic recommendations
• Experience working within complex enterprise technology landscapes
Desirable Experience
• Banking or financial services domain experience
• Exposure to enterprise automation and operational modernisation programmes
• Experience supporting large-scale transformation roadmaps
