Data Scientist
You’ll play a key role in turning complex data into actionable insights that drive business and operational decisions. Working with large-scale datasets—including time-series, structured, and unstructured data—you’ll design, build, and deploy machine learning models that support real-world use cases.
You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable analytical solutions. This role blends hands-on modeling with stakeholder communication, ensuring insights are both technically sound and business-relevant.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Build and deploy machine learning models (regression, classification, time-series)
• Perform data preparation, cleansing, and feature engineering
• Analyze large-scale datasets (including IoT/smart grid data)
• Apply statistical modeling and advanced analytics to uncover insights
• Translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support operational and strategic initiatives
• Contribute to best practices in AI/ML, data science, and analytics
Must Haves:
• 5+ years of experience in data science or advanced analytics
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, and SQL
• Experience with machine learning frameworks and statistical modeling
• Solid foundation in probability, statistics, and experimental design
• Experience working with large, complex datasets
Nice to Have:
• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a quantitative field
• Experience in utilities, energy, or similar industries
• Familiarity with Azure Machine Learning or cloud-based ML platforms
• Experience with optimization techniques (linear programming, etc.)
Callouts:
• Hybrid schedule (Tues–Thurs onsite in Washington, DC)
• Hands-on ML role with real operational impact
• Exposure to large-scale data (terabyte/petabyte level)
