Data Scientist

A leading healthcare organisation in Oxford is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to support a range of data-driven initiatives aimed at improving patient care, operational efficiency, and clinical decision-making. This role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful projects within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, including clinicians, analysts, and engineers. Key Responsibilities: • Develop predictive models to support clinical risk assessment and patient flow optimisation • Analyse large-scale NHS datasets to uncover actionable insights • Build and maintain data pipelines using Azure-based tools • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex data into clear, impactful recommendations • Ensure compliance with healthcare data governance and IG protocols • Support the development of dashboards and visualisations for operational reporting Technical Skills Required: • Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib) • Experience with SQL and relational databases • Familiarity with Azure tools (Data Factory, Synapse, ML Studio) • Knowledge of NHS datasets (HES, SUS, GPES) • Understanding of clinical coding standards (ICD-10, SNOMED CT) • Experience with Power BI or similar tools for data visualisation • Awareness of data governance and information security in healthcare Ideal Candidate Profile: • Previous experience in a healthcare or public sector data science role • Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience • Comfortable working onsite in a fast-paced, collaborative environment • Passionate about using data to drive improvements in healthcare delivery If you're a data scientist looking to make a tangible impact in the healthcare sector, we’d love to hear from you.
