A leading financial services company seeks a skilled Data Scientist for a 6-month contract to join our innovative technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver impactful data science solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced Agile environment, driving business value through advanced analytics. About the Role
As a Data Scientist, you'll work with a dynamic team of data scientists, engineers, and analysts to solve complex business challenges. You'll apply the data science lifecycle to develop, deploy, and maintain production-grade models, collaborating with stakeholders on decision-making, pricing, and monitoring solutions. Key Responsibilities
• Apply the data science lifecycle (design, EDA, building, evaluation, deployment, monitoring) to deliver scalable MVPs.
• Develop and optimize production-grade data science models using Python.
• Design solutions for business challenges using diverse datasets and advanced ML/statistical techniques.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance analytics practices.
• Write high-quality, maintainable Python code adhering to best practices.
• Stay updated on new techniques and share insights with the team. Must-Haves
• Proven experience in data science or advanced analytics.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with Test-Driven Development (e.g., pytest).
• Familiarity with version control and IT delivery tools.
• Ability to apply machine learning to solve business problems.
• Experience building predictive/prescriptive models for actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills to present findings to diverse audiences. Nice-to-Haves
• Graduate/postgraduate degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or statistics.
• Experience in financial services, insurance, or e-commerce.
• Familiarity with cloud-based deployment, neural networks, TensorFlow, CatBoost, XGBoost, SKlearn, Pandas, SQL, API development, or CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in software engineering or DevOps/MLOps.
