Role Description
This is an on-site role for a Data Scientist located in Westbrook, ME. Data Scientist will be responsible for developing and deploying embedded computer vision algorithms for veterinary diagnostic platforms. Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams, clinical experts, and business stakeholders to define requirements and develop project plans. Lead the design, development, and implementation of computer vision solutions, from data annotation and model training to evaluation, monitoring, and deployment.
REQUIRED SKILLSETS:
- Expertise in Python programming and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch
- Experience either computer vision algorithms
- Proven experience developing ML algorithms and deploy algorithms
- Experience that goes on the edge and the cloud (how algorithms works on a device) is a plus
- 2 years experience /computer vision
- Python β develops codes, deployable codes and write clean codes
- Biomedical imaging and/or pathology is a plus
- Data bricks is a plus
Responsibilities:
β’ Develop and deploy embedded computer vision algorithms for veterinary diagnostic platforms
β’ Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams, clinical experts, and business stakeholders to define requirements and develop project plans
β’ Lead the design, development, and implementation of computer vision solutions, from data annotation and model training to evaluation, monitoring, and deployment
β’ Utilize strong software engineering skills to develop scalable, maintainable, and efficient code for computer vision applications, ensuring high performance and reliability
β’ Work with embedded systems and NVIDIA GPUs to optimize and deploy algorithms for real-time processing and inference
β’ Stay current with advancements in computer vision, machine learning, and related fields, and incorporate relevant technologies and methodologies into projects.
β’ Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their growth and development in computer vision and machine learning.
Qualifications:
β’ Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
β’ Proven experience delivering computer vision solutions, with expertise in Python programming and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
β’ Demonstrated experience working across the full development lifecycle, from requirements development to model deployment on embedded hardware
β’ Strong software engineering skills, with experience delivering software in a production environment and familiarity with software development best practices.
β’ Experience with embedded algorithm deployment and optimization for NVIDIA GPUs is essential.
β’ Familiarity with microscopy, digital cytology, or digital pathology is desirable
β’ Experience using Databricks is a plus
β’ Proficiency in AWS services for data processing, storage, and deployment.
β’ Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
