Role description
Data Scientist – Marketing Analytics • 3-Month Contract • £500 Per Day Outside IR35 Our client is a rapidly growing business operating in over 80 countries. The data science function is relatively new and plays a pivotal role in measuring marketing effectiveness and refining campaign strategies across global markets. We are looking for a Data Scientist to join the marketing analytics team, focusing on marketing effectiveness, experimentation, and automation. You will work closely with marketing teams to evaluate campaigns, measure impact, and help drive data-informed decisions across multiple platforms including Meta and Google. Key Responsibilities: • Lead Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM) initiatives to evaluate campaign effectiveness using tools such as Robyn (Meta) and Meridian (Google). • Finalise and implement the A/B testing framework, ensuring robust experiment design and causal impact measurement. • Automate modelling pipelines to streamline marketing analytics processes. • Work hands-on with complex, incomplete datasets and build customer lifecycle and LTV models. • Translate insights into actionable recommendations for marketing strategy and performance optimisation. • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and third-party clients (e.g., VS, JoJo, Zalando) to align analytics efforts. Required Skills & Experience: • 4–5 years of commercial experience in data science, preferably in eCommerce or marketing analytics. • Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, SQL, Python, and PySpark; knowledge of R and dashboarding tools is a plus. • Proven experience with causal inference, MMM modelling, and experimentation. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently. • Excellent communication skills to explain complex insights to non-technical stakeholders. Desirable: • Experience with Geolift testing, time series analysis, and other advanced experimentation techniques. • Prior exposure to multiple marketing channels and campaign analytics.
