Title: Data Scientist (Contract) Location: Conshohocken, PA - Hybrid Pay Rate: $62.50–$72.00/hour (Determined by skill set) Hours: Monday–Friday; 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Overview We are seeking two experienced Data Scientists to support the adoption of algorithmic decision-making at scale within Group Digital. This contract role will focus on building, deploying, and maintaining machine learning and AI-driven solutions that enhance personalization, automation, and data-driven decision-making across digital products. Job Description Machine Learning & AI Development
Develop, optimize, and deploy predictive and prescriptive machine learning models.
Apply supervised and unsupervised learning techniques for customer classification, segmentation, and personalization.
Utilize deep learning and neural networks to enhance customer profiling and recommendations.
Implement and maintain MLOps practices to deploy, monitor, and retrain models in production.
Design and fine-tune Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI solutions for automation and user engagement.
Explore and integrate knowledge graphs to improve data relationships and AI-driven recommendations.
Data Engineering & Pipelines
Partner with data engineers to design and maintain scalable data pipelines.
Develop and optimize ETL processes using SQL and cloud-based solutions (GCP preferred).
Write complex SQL queries for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading.
Implement CI/CD workflows for model training, deployment, and monitoring.
Collaboration & Agile Development
Work in an Agile/DevOps environment with cross-functional teams.
Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
Clearly communicate technical concepts, methodologies, and insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
Promote a data-driven culture and advocate for AI-powered decision-making.
Required Skills
5+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
Experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn
Hands-on experience with MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow)
Experience deploying and monitoring models in production
Strong understanding of probability, statistics, and experimental design (A/B testing)
Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred; AWS acceptable)
Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
Experience with Knowledge Graphs
Hands-on experience with LLMs and Generative AI (GPT, BERT, LLaMA, Claude)
Retail or personalization web technology experience
Familiarity with IKEA’s digital ecosystem
Experience with BI tools and data visualization
