Data Science Practitioner – Contract
Location: Glasgow
Rate: £440 per day (Inside IR35)
Working Pattern: Onsite, 5 days per week
Contract Length: February 2026 – January 2027
Role Overview
We are seeking a Data Science Practitioner to join a major international financial services firm. This organisation operates across multiple regions, providing solutions to both individual and corporate clients. You will design and deliver AI and machine learning solutions that drive measurable business outcomes, while working closely with onsite teams and supporting technical decision-making.
This role requires strong hands-on capability and the confidence to influence technical decisions and support wider teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models for business decision-making
• Translate complex data into actionable insights
• Evaluate and measure the value and performance of AI/ML solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate models into live systems
• Stay current with emerging AI/ML trends and technologies
• Support and mentor team members where required
Key Skills & Experience
• Strong experience in Data Science and Machine Learning
• Experience with Java and automated testing approaches (TDD/BDD)
• Exposure to Kubernetes, Terraform, and Oracle databases
• Experience with cloud-based ML platforms (e.g., SageMaker)
• Desirable: Databricks, Data Lakes, or applied AI use cases
