ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Develop and Implement Digital Innovation Solutions
- Collaborate with researchers, laboratory staff, and the Digital Science team to understand their informatics needs and challenges
- Identify, evaluate, and implement laboratory informatics solutions to access and visualize human data including public and proprietary data
1. Streamline Data Management:
- Work on projects that enhance data accessibility, integrity, and usability while maintaining FAIR principles.
- Ensure that data management practices are efficient and aligned with the latest digital technologies.
1. Collaborate with Digital & AI Team:
- Partner with the Digital & AI team to identify and deploy new digital solutions.
- Ensure that these solutions are effectively integrated into the research workflows for biology and pharmacology studies.
1. Training and Support:
- Train scientists on the available digital solutions and provide ongoing support to ensure they are effectively utilized.
- Develop training materials and conduct workshops as needed.
1. Propose New Solutions:
- Continuously evaluate the current digital tools and propose new solutions that can further enhance the research capabilities of the team.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in digital technologies and their applications in scientific research.
1. Project Management:
- Manage digital solution projects from conception to deployment, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with research goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field from an accredited university or equivalent education with 2+ years of experience required.
OR
Masterβs degree in bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field from an accredited university or equivalent education with 1+ years of experience
General qualifications:
β’ Proven experience in Laboratory Informatics, preferably in a pharmaceutical research setting.
β’ Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
β’ Experience with database management systems and data analysis tools as well as laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
β’ Technical knowledge to configure / administer / maintain (vendor or home-built) digital solutions.
β’ Knowledge of regulatory requirements and data privacy standards in research.
β’ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
β’ Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
β’ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
